Branäs is a growing ski resort that has been named Sweden's best ski resort for families no fewer than 13 times, and Sweden's Ski Resort of the Year in 2021. With a vertical drop of 415 metres and around 12,000 beds, Branäs is Sweden's fourth-largest ski resort.

There are 34 slopes with a mix of regular pistes, funslopes, off-piste areas and children's slopes. The longest run is 3.5 km.

​

Branäs offers a gondola, express lifts, chairlifts, a T-bar, button lifts and carpet lifts, more than 30 lifts in total, and the resort keeps expanding, including at Nötåsen and in the new Branäs Syd area.

​

For children there are the family areas Logläntan and Björnbuseland, Nintendo Land, skicross, speedski, a snowpark and a sledging hill. During the season the slopes are open until 7 pm most days, and there is a ski school and ski rental on site.

​

If you want more than downhill skiing, there are almost 30 km of cross-country trails, dog sledding and snowmobile trails.

​

The area has seven restaurants, from Toppstugan at the top of Branäsberget to Ladan at Soltorget, and all of them have play areas and child-friendly food.

​

For visitors bringing their own packed lunch, there are several barbecue areas and warming huts along the slopes.

Branäs has become a true year-round destination. In summer, the Sjöexpressen chairlift takes you up the mountain, and Ladan restaurant at Soltorget has a large outdoor terrace.

​

The bike park has lift-served flow trails suitable for families and beginners alike, including Nintendo Land, which turns into a flow trail in summer, and Utsikten, with views over the Klarälven valley. There are also cross-country trails, a pump track and a skills area, as well as bike rental and a workshop.

​

The Nordvärmlandsleden trail starts at the top of the mountain, and there are more than 55 km of hiking trails in total. There is also a padel court at Soltorget, a family-friendly 9-hole disc golf course, a zip line, a playground and fishing.

​

Nearby, you can also go canoeing and swimming, or build a raft and float down the Klarälven river.

​

Many owners also choose to rent out their cabins during the summer months.
